There's a market for Iggy and Beauchemin. The good thing is the dead wight will be coming off the books this year and some next year. We will finally rid ourselves dead weight and have some cap space to bring in some UFA guys and call up some youngsters

He's a shell of his former self but yes there's still a market for Iginla. Teams have inquired about him, he wants to be dealt and he will be. The Hawks have expressed some interest, but if I was to speculate I'd say he's going back to Calgary. Ottawa and Montreal have been linked to Beauchemin. The Avs would have to take salary back but yes there's interest.

Retain 100% of Iggy's salary for a draft pick and 50% of Francois's salary for anything you can get. I think Francois would waive his no trade clause for the expansion draft. Doubt Vegas picks him. Lots of $ coming off the books next season. Team is still rebuilding, it sucks but I've been through it during the Nordiques years. Sakic has a direction now, which I think lacked when Roy was here. Guess we'll just have to wait and see...

You can only retain money on two salaries. Since they already retained some of McLeod, they'll have to choose between Beauchemin and Iginla if they trade those guys for anything.
